Photography freezes a moment in time
Light of a moment, kiss in a frame. Artistic rendering of a fraction of a period in time.

I am looking for one couple whose wedding film can become a featured portfolio piece. If you'd like the chance at a free wedding film, fill out this form and tell me why!
Chapter Two — Memory
You have spent months, perhaps years, planning your perfect day. You have also likely spent a lot of money in the process. Montana affords you a beautiful backdrop to your wedding day, and a photographer will capture that with artistic precision! So you may reasonably wonder, should I really invest the money into a wedding film?
Why may you decide to book a wedding videographer?
The luxuries of film
you want to hear your vows again years from now as you said them in the moment
you love the little moments, the feelings, the movement.
music is meaningful to you and you can see the way it captures the rhythm of your love.
you want the laughter, music, speeches, and quiet in between it all.
you know now that you would regret not having it.
As a wedding videographer, I would never want anyone to feel
pressured into booking with me. I would rather do all I can to
ensure you feel comfortable with your decision and love the
process all the way through. What matters to me is that you
remember your day with a smile, whether that be a captured memory
or one that lives on in within your mind.
Throughout my time filming weddings, I have found that many
couples look back and wish they had set aside something extra to
have had a wedding film. My wife, Maya, and I, wish the same
ourselves. For some, it becomes a necessary part of their day once
they realize all that it preserves for them.
If you are
on the edge, please feel free to
contact me to discuss what might
be best for your individual circumstances. We will never pressure
you either way, and are happy to guide you in the decision that is
right for you. You can also view more of our films

photo vs film
Photography and film do not compete with one another. Rather, they compliment each other because they remember different pieces of the same day. One lets you freeze a second in time. The other allows you to feel as though you have stepped within the moment once more.
Photography and film are an unmatched duo that can bring your wedding day back to life
Light of a moment, kiss in a frame. Artistic rendering of a fraction of a period in time.
Movement of each heartbeat, rhythm of your words and the pulse of each quiet second. Captured memories brought to life.
Chapter Three - The Tone
Once you know film matters, the next question is tone. If you have specific thoughts and ideas and dreams in mind, this may help you structure them.
Choose a few words that feel like your day
Pick any combination. Each mix points toward a different kind of wedding film: the pacing, the audio, the texture, and the parts we would want to hold closest.
Choose a few words and your film begins to take shape around the feeling of your day.

Chapter Seven - Us
I am Jelani, the filmmaker behind Ersland Creative. My wife Maya and I are a husband-and-wife creative team based in Bozeman, Montana. We have come to love the art of filming wedding days and all that the day includes: family, nerves, faith, weather, laughter, history, and the start of something new. Most of all, I have come to love the expressions and the emotions when each couple watches their wedding film for the first time.
I do not want your wedding film to feel like a production you had to perform for. I want you to live in the moment, enjoy your day, and receive a beautiful gift, a memory of how it all unfolded. And I want it to be yours.
Experience
Most couples are not used to being on camera. That is okay. To be honest, neither are we. Our approach is relaxed, observant, with gently guidance when needed.
I prefer to work in the background, merely observing the day unfold. I will help when direction is useful, step back when the moment is already happening, and keep you focused on the day.
Your priorities, your loved ones, your style, your location, and what you most want to remember from the day.
The planned moments, the unexpected ones, the atmosphere around them, and the small details that make the day feel personal.
Music, pacing, audio, vows, speeches, movement, and visuals come together into something personal and something that feels like your wedding, not anyone else's.
A Few Helpful Answers
Photography and film remember the day differently. Photos preserve still frames you can print and hold. Film preserves voices, movement, pacing, music, vows, speeches, and the feeling of being there. The decision is yours to make!
That is completely normal and you know what, so are we! My wife, Maya, and I help guide you when it helps and step back when the moment is already happening. The goal is not to make you perform. The goal is to preserve what is real.
Yes, when planned into the collection. Audio is one of the most powerful parts of a wedding film because it keeps the voices and words of the day alive. We have plenty of equipment to preserve the voices with professional quality.
